There are many parts to the accounting process, and we can help with all of them. These include:
General Ledgers - These are the foundation for determining what the company has been doing. They used to be kept by hand in the "good old days", but it is much more efficient to do so by computer. Most people think they can keep one at home using a check-book program like Quicken or Quickbooks, but unless you have bookkeeping knowledge, you will not get accurate results.
Financial Statements - These are the true picture of what your business is doing. There are different types of financial statements depending on the accounting method your business has elected to use. For the most accurate information, you should be using the Accrual method of accounting. This means you are reporting sales as they are made (cash basis would report sales as you receive the money), and expenses as they are incurred (cash basis would report expenses as you paid them). One of the most important tools for you to use to control your business is an accurate financial statement prepared within a short period of time after the end of the reporting period. Anything more than a month old is ancient history.
Software Support - If you are reading this, you must already be computer literate. However, there are many programs out there that will make your company more efficient. We can help you find the right ones for your business, and show you how to set them up for the greatest benefit to you.
Management Advisory Services - If you have any questions to ask, we will be there to answer them, or refer you to someone who knows that area even better than we do.
Accounts Receivable Processing - Sometimes it is more cost effective to let an outside service process your receivables. They may be able to offer services that are too expensive to justify in house, such as drafting from your clients' accounts, repetitive billings, etc. We have all these capabilities.
Accounts Payable Processing - The same goes for Accounts Payable. Using an outside service such as Steven W. Schnur CPA could save you from having waste money hiring a full charge bookkeeper.
